The Alpine Continuum

The  Alpine Continuum are devoted followers of the Elders,  super-beings who descended from stars over 10,000 years ago and have been guiding the progress of man ever since. The music of the Alpine  Continuum is an esoteric translation of the eternal sounds of the Continuum which contains all the projections, past and future, of the  Elders.

The Alpine Continuum – From Stars to Mountains LP

Very little is known about the enigmatic Alpine Continuum, all we know is that the return address on this recording is a very small mountain village deep in the Swiss Alps. What we do know is that this is timeless cosmic music; an interplanetary journey either to or from the center of the universe. Sounding something like a celestial offspring of Tangerine Dream, Carl Craig and Demdike Stare, this 40 minute tapestry of sound sometimes drifts weightlessly, as alien voices can be heard being transmitted from the farthest corners of the galaxy, at other times it moves at motorik light-speed past solar events and lush planets, which are lost as soon as they are discovered. This is new dimensional music, way beyond the horizon of your hi-fi.

Michael Snow once told me that the first record player he owned as a teenager used a cactus needle as a stylus.
